SAVE WEIRD-LOOKING SKIES WITH COLOR GRADING

Writer: Markus AlbertMarkus Albert

Photographing sunsets or sunrises in landscape photography can sometimes be frustrating. What looks good on location can look completely different on the screen at home. You often find that the sky has a bunch of different color casts. What now?

For example: Make new cleaner colors! It's not as complicated as it might sound. The color grading in Adobe Lightroom or Camera Raw (which is the same tool) can help you toning shadows, midtones and highlights differently.

I just published a How-to-YouTube video in which I demonstrate howI use color grading to quickly and effectively remove color casts and restore the colors.

As an example, I use a photo of the famous Tre Cime in the Dolomites that I shot in October 2024. Interested? Have fun watching!
